us with the details. >> it happened at the fashion mall in pentagon city earlier today. you can clearly see four men wearing hoods walk into zales jewelry store. at least one suspect is armed with a hammer and begins smashing away at the glass. the others help peel it back and all four grab what they can. they made off with 27 diamond rings, estimated value $128,000. after grabbing the rings the suspects took off running for the nearest exit. it led to the top level of the parking garage where there was a get-away driver in a red sedan. they drove through a closed gate exiting onto 15th street. investigators are checking security cameras in the garage to see if they can get a better description on the car or tag numbers. >> it's pretty scary because you come to the city thinking there's security and there's security all over the mall. so that is pretty gutsy on their behalf. >> they did conceal their identities by wearing hoods and i don't know if it's masks, but they did conceal their faces. so maybe through clothes the public will be able to help us locating these individuals.

pentagon city yesterday. >> but tonight we have brand- new video of a robbery this afternoon at a jewelry store in frederick. our ken molestina is there and the video is just amazing. you really feel for the woman inside at the time. >> reporter: absolutely, leslie. the images you're about to see tell it all. this was absolutely bold. it was daring. these women who were inside at least some of them, police say were hit with pepper spray. folks, once again it was all caught on the crook cam. let's show you what we're talking about. take a look here. you can see three men enter the colonial jewelry store on south market street after 1:00 today. one of the men appears to have a gun and he orders the women inside on to the floor. a second man then with the pepper spray can is seen firing off some of the chemical. the thieves break the glass cases and make off with handfuls of jewelry. the whole thing was over in minutes. thankfully no one was seriously hurt here. let's go on to yesterday. a similar scene at the zales jewelry store inside pentagon's mall. police say they made off with

reached out to the pentagon for comment but have not heard back yet. nick robertson is following developments in london. is this the same drone that the united states said was returned to the united states? >> it looks like the same one. the iranians say it was flying 140 miles into their airspace off their northeastern corner, close to the border with afghanistan. the iranians are saying this aircraft was flying from the kandahar airfield base inside afghanistan, and some of the footage, and i looked at it, some of it could be kandahar air base but there's no guarantee this video came from the aircraft in question here. did they get this video from somewhere els? it's not clear. there's no way to verify at the moment what the iranians are saying. the spokesman that the iranians are putting forward says that the aircraft was sent to california several times in 2010 for repair and used for operations inside pakistan. >> translator: this aircraft has had many flights in countries around iran, operations that have taken place in pakistan. this aircraft provided guidance. >> again, n

changes the pentagon could soon be making to its benefits policy for same-sex couples an earthquake in the south pacific triggered a tsunami that killed five people today. the eight -point -0 magnitude quake struck off the solomon islands. four elderly people and one child died when strong waves triggered by the quake hit an eastern region known as the santa cruz islands. damage is still being assessed but the tsunami appears to have caused some damage and disruption at the local airport and nearby villages. a tsunami warning issued for several other countries was later canceled. the f-b-i has released new photos of the bunker where a five-year-old boy from alabama was held hostage for six days. authorities found two homemade bombs yesterday in the bunker where jimmy lee dykes was keeping the boy hostage and continue to search for more today. one was in the underground bunker, the other was in a p-v- c pipe that the hostage taker used to communicate with police. dykes was killed in a raid on the bunker monday. the boy, named ethan, was rescued and today he is celebrating his sixth b
